I am currently an Engineering Professor and love my job because it keeps me connected with students and active in research. Both os these keeps me excited, motivated, and passionate towards what I do.
Teaching and research at the university involving engineering students
I was fascinated by how chemistry can be used to make materials. This helped pursue engineering as a career.
All my school education was in India including my undergraduate BS degree.
Mostly working with my undergraduate and graduate students on course work and research work and guiding and mentoring then in related field.
Helping next geaneration students and active in research to invent new materils for a variety of applications.
Becoming a member of NAE and inventing cermic composites that is used in jet engines for improving efficiency and reducing environmental damage.
Inventing better materials such as ceramics that are not brittle and can be used at very high temperatures such as in jet engines and fuel cells.
I have a wife and 3 daughters. All have BS and Graduate degrees. My wife worked as a teacher in high school, 2 daughters are physicians, and the third works in a medical hospital in a reklated field. We have 3 grand children at present.
Continue to work educationing next generation of engineers and pursue research in the new area of materials for quantum devices and computers. Also, help NAE in any ways I can by serving on committees.
My parents and grand parents who encouraged me to pursue STEM related career.
